application for all three branches of Student Government, but bear
in mind you cannot generally be a member of multiple branches.

Joining Student Senate (Legislative Branch)
Each year up to 50 Senators are elected for two-year terms from
their individual colleges. When vacancies occur in Student Senate,
interested students may complete the Senator-At-Large process to
join until the end of the current academic year. This process is in
our Bylaws:
SG Bylaws, Section IV
- Fill out a Senator-At-Large application and submit it to the
Student Government Office. (Online Application)
- Be interviewed and approved by the Student Government
President or Vice President.
- Attend one full Senate Meeting of the current session.
- Attend one full Senate Committee Meeting of the current
session.
- Serve one office hour.
After the above requirements
are fulfilled, the Candidate is to be interviewed and approved by
the Senate Executive Committee. The Candidate must then be
interviewed and confirmed by the Senate at a regularly scheduled
Senate meeting. The Candidate must be approved by the Senate a
minimum of six weeks before the end of the session.

Joining Cabinet (Executive Branch)
Cabinet
positions are filled by appointment and must be approved by the
Student Senate. Check for vacancies and position descriptions on the Cabinet
homepage. Cabinet members serve until a new President and Vice
President are elected in the Spring.

Joining SJC
Much like Cabinet positions,
Student Judiciary Council Justices are appointed by the Executive
branch and must be approved by the Student Senate. Approved Justices
serve three year terms. Currently all SJC positions are filled, but please check back for vacancies.
